WHY YOU SHOULD ADOPT A SENIOR PET AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE OF
TRAINING & HYPERNESS
(We are not just rescuing dogs, but people too who need these little
angels to save their lives:
"Hi,
I am a case manager for a 59
year old man who until recently was homeless for many years. He
suffers from depression and has been prescribed a companion animal by
our nurse practioner. I would be interested in procuring the
pomeranian for him. "(of course we have to make sure that they own a
home, and can afford a dog and try to talk with their medical
providers about their ability to be responsible, but if in a nursing
home or assisted facility, we try to work with the owners of the
facility to take in therapy dogs, we also have the new owners put us
as the trustee for the dogs in their living wills)
OUR
TRAINED DOGS:

BJ,
a Pommeranian
mix, was found running the streets, after a week in the Utah County
Animal Shelter, he was picked up by Denise, he has been neutered, had a
complete dental, had his rear dew claws removed since his nails grew
into them, was vaccinated, microchipped, and had a limp in his front
right leg checked. After we realized he was limping,
we had him xrayed and he had to have a wire removed from a prior
surgery. Thank you Dr. Taylor of Brookside animal hospital. He is
recooperating and using his leg better now. Cocsts to date for dental,
surgeries, etc. is $250.
He is just running around now, jumping into our laps and so playful
and happy. He would be the perfect lap dog for someone home all
day with no other dogs. He is great with cats. He loves to be with someone all day.
He loves to be carried since He weighs 2/3
of what Fox weighs.

FOX is
a 3 yr. Purebred Gorgeous and Loving Pommeranian. He is perfectly
housetraining and learning a lot with his foster brothers and
sisters. He is wonderful with dogs, cats and people who are gentle.
He is the most loving TeddyBear!!! Only experienced with "high expense grooming and
maintenance references" retired adult only homes apply.
Minnie &
Sammy
ARE loving and calm PUREBRED Toy POODLES WHO HAVE HAD
EXCELLENT CARE ALL THEIR LIVES UNTIL THEIR OWNER DIED AND WHO NEED TO STAY TOGETHER, NEED REGULAR GROOMING
AND ARE HOUSETRAINED, INDOOR ONLY FRAGILE DOGS. POODLE EXPERIENCED
HOME ONLY.
Denise,
Thanks for keeping me posted on Sammy and Minnie's progress. Hopefully
the diet will help with their itching problem. I wish I had known more
about what to do for them. Our decision to place the dogs with you has
taken a big worry off of our minds as I'm confident they are in good
hands. Please keep me updated as to their progress as I continue to be
most interested.
Thanks much,
Danny

WHY SO MANY SMALL BREED DOGS ARE NEGLECTED AND THROWN AWAY and why
we are so STRICT!
Here is an example of why you
should wait to raise your kids:
Dear Miss Rumples,
I wanted to tell you one more
time, thank you.
I want to share my story with
all potential pet owners. Six years ago I was a young executive,
engaged to be married, and living the life i wanted. My fiance, at
that time, worked crazy hours and was unable to be attentive. I
was very lonely and I wanted to love and be loved. Without
thought, we adopted a Lhasa apso (my very first dog) from one of
his clients. The family had him for six months and told us he was
a great dog, but the kids (three of them) were too young to
understand animal cruelty. I couldn't understand why a family
would give up such a beautiful dog.
Well, after about three months, I understood. He was mentally ill
(possibly inbred). After many training seminars and visits to the
vet, the last step was to give him a buddy. So we did. We went to
a breeder, played with parents of our new arrival, and made a
selection. Boo was perfect!!!!! Unbelievable temperament. At
first, my first dog seemed more complacent and affectionate
towards our new puppy. After a few months, I had reason to fear
for my new puppy's life. After painstaking contemplation, our dog
was put down. My new puppy seemed very depressed that his friend
was gone and wanted the company. Without thought, I went back to
the same breeder and brought him back a friend. Finally, a perfect
match, hannah and boo! my dogs have been with me through thick and
thin. In a sense, we grew up together.
Today, I am remarried with a
seventeen month old and another on the way. I just assumed my
family would grow (Hanna & Boo included) and be more fruitful
. It's just not that simple. My seventeen month old has developed
allergies to both dogs and will continue to suffer in their
presence. As sad as it is, it's the truth. I never had a second
thought. My dogs had to go. As a parent, all of my priorities have
changed. If I would have thought things through six years ago,
maybe my babies (Hannah & Boo) would have found a more
consistent home. I can only learn from this experience and pass on
my experience to you.
Thank you,
Heartbroken |

Buffy
Dog
Poodle
Size:
Small
Age: Senior
Sex: Male
I.D:
Notes:
Buffy is a small poodle boy who only weighs 12 pounds. Buffy
is approximately 10 to 11 years old. Little Buffy has
suffered a great deal in his life, especially the last few
years as he was abused and neglected. Because of this, Buffy
is timid and shy when meeting people. He is a gentle, timid
little soul that deserves a few years of happiness. Buffy
has limited vision in one eye but sees very well from the
other eye. Buffy will need someone that will love him and
show him that people are kind and caring after all that he
has endured. Won't you give Buffy a home? |

Remember our little
white Toy Poodle Muffin we rescued from SL Cty shelter:
bred so often she had tumors, never groomed with black
dreadlocks, eye falling out, teeth falling out, left in
the street to die, and now living the life she deserves of
being regularly groomed, getting regular vet care and
loved by her mom. Why are people making money
breeding and treating these poor little Angels so cruelly?

Ellery
Dog
Chihuahua Reminds
us of our little Tillie who was running the streets with dead
babies in her tummy. The owners and shelter thought she had
cancerous tumors and wanted to put her to sleep. Dr. Daines spayed her and found her dead babies just in time to save
her life. She was such a little lover. We took care
of her for 2 years till she found her loving mom.
Size:
Small
Age: Adult
Sex: Male
I.D:
Notes:
Ellery is an adorable, handsome little guy who weighs 14 pounds.
He is approximately 5 years old. When he was 2 years old he was
adopted by a family who left him in their backyard for 3 years
where he was terribly neglected. Then they brought him to a high
kill "shelter". Fortunately, we found him-scared and
alone. Today, he is in excellent health and only needs a family
and love. Ellery is very affectionate and intelligent. He will
make a loyal companion to the special person or family who gives
him a second chance at happiness. Ellery is very sweet, loves to
be with people and is in urgent need of a home as he is very
lonely. To adopt Ellery, please click on Shih Tzu Rescue
underneath his picture and complete our online application. If
using AOL, please fax your completed application to

Alison
Dog
Shih Tzu
Size:
Small
Age: Senior
Sex: Female
I.D:
Notes:
Alison is approximately 9 to 10 years old. She is very
small and weighs only 9 pounds. She is blind in one eye
(due to neglect) but does have partial vision in the
other eye. Alison was rescued from a high kill shelter
where she was abandoned by her family after providing
many loving years to her owners. Poor little Alison was
left to be killed just because she was older and
disabled. Although terribly mistreated, Alison is an
absolute doll, extremely sweet, loving and loves to be
held and cuddled. Alison touches you with her paw when
she wants to be carried. She is very intelligent,
patient and a real little lap dog. Aside from her vision
problem, Alison is in good health. She loves to be
walked and petted. She also learns her way around quite
easily and is just adorable. If there is room in your
home and heart for this wonderful little dog who was
abandoned due to her vision problems just when she most
needed her family, please contact us. Alison deserves
many happy years with a family/person who will cherish
her and give another chance. Note: We will consider
adopting Alison out of our local South Florida area due
to her special needs. |

State Works To Find Owners Of
Stolen Dogs
POSTED: 6:35 pm CDT April 6, 2004
UPDATED: 6:41 pm CDT April 6, 2004
FORSYTH, Mo. -- About 50 dogs have been seized from
the property of a southwest Missouri couple suspected
of stealing the mostly pure-bred animals to resell
them. The dogs were taken from their owners' back
yards and the kennels of breeders. Most are small and
mid-size dogs, including Boston terriers and Shih-Tzus.
The dogs apparently were stolen within the last
several weeks. They appear to be in good health.
Authorities are trying to find the owners. In the
meantime, the dogs are being held at the Taney County
Animal Shelter. The shelter can be reached at (417)
332-0172.

PUPPIES, PUPPIES, PUPPIES all adopted! (These
are in upstate NY with their rescuer/trainer/groomer. Instructions
on our questionaire)!
HEY!
If you could have a medium sized dog with short legs and the loving,
easy going temperament of a Bassett Hound, with the long ears and long
body, you would have one of these loving and adorable pups:
LIGHTNING is the little runt female, who is loving, calm,
doesn't cry, easy going and learning fast. Adopted
in New York by Clair.

Kooter
Jr. is such the Bassett in looks and personality.

BEAR and SPARKY are
so adorable with those really long ears. They follow you around, love to
be carried and all puppies are housetraining perfectly. Bear
was adopted by a great family in New York.
Bailey was adopted by a
wonderful family in Salt Lake City, she sleeps in the middle of her
parents in their bed. See link below for all the pictures.
BABY who
is also small, loving and gaining great confidence, is so adorable. Thanks
Debbie and family for adopting him.
TANK
is the biggest in the litter, loving,
confident, and looks like a big Yellow Lab puppy. He will be soft,
smart, big and gorgeous. Thank
you Sharon for opening up your heart and home in Colorado to this adorable, layed
back and lovable boy! He is
adopted! (Deb her sister is adopting Baby!)

What is Save A Dog & Kids Program about?
PAWSITIVE PRAISE FOR
PEACE!

Were you aware that
donations for Charity and Youth Programs in 2002/2003 are so low that not only
food, clothes and necessities are needed, but all After School Programs
for Homeless and Under-priviledged kids have been cut. Federal
research on Anti-gang, Anti-drugs, Anti-violence and Anti-juvenile
delinquency states that the most successful deterants are After School
Programs with positive activities for kids. Kids commit most of the
crimes during the hours after school. Help us bring positive
activities to the underpriviledged kids Youth Programs,YMCA After School
Programs, Youth Detention Centers and other
youth facilities all over the US.
