Update 02/18/07

Hi Denise,

As promised, in honor of Laddies 2nd year of adoption, here are some shots of him, & Happy and their favorite park.
We just celebrated Laddies 2nd year with me. He is such a character and LOVES to run at this park -- he gets so exhausted.

Update 03/04/06:

Dear Denise,

Laddie and Happy and I just celebrated Laddies one year adoption day a couple of weeks ago.

Now, I just can't imagine not having Laddie with us. We have moved over to Berkeley in a big house with a yard and another dog and two more cats.  Laddie has made great firends with the giant Wolf-Daog that lives in the back apartment...they are a funny sight out in the back barking at squirrels in the neighbors tree!

Laddie is healthy and happy and still pretty needy of attention, of which he gets plenty.  If I am petting or grooming Happy or Handsome, Laddie wants in on it too.  I think he has gotten a bit more patient.  He does try to get all critters to play of course.  He continues to try to get Molly the big black lab who is 13 that we live with to play.

He is, as always, just pure sweetness.  Thank you for resucing him and for bringing him into my life.

Many Blessings to you and your pets and your work,

Love,
Jesse, Laddie, Happy and Handsome Midnight

Laddie's family wanted to put him out of his misery since they could not afford the surgery, and we took him to our vet to see how much we were looking at to fix his leg.   Well after our Veterinarian had such high optimism that Laddie could have an operation to put a plate in his leg and he could live a normal good life, Denise just could not let him be put down. So please help us raise the funds for Laddie's operation of around $300. We await that and we will get him into Dr. Taylor to get his leg fixed.  He is such a a loving and trusting angel.  He is the best loving little dog!! He loves other dogs, cats and people. Yeah!! Thanks Jesse Waters in San Francisco Bay area for offering to adopt Laddie and getting Rocketdogrescue Organization's Orthopedic Surgeon to help with his surgery.  He will love to be in your wonderful home with your other adopted Pommi Happy that looks just like Laddie. Thanks to all for helping us care for Laddie:

Hi This is for the little ones that need leg surgeries.  My pom mix broke both front legs at once...if I hadn't had friends and family to help with the cost of his surgery, I would have had to put him down. Good luck. $50 BY pAYPAL.

sincerely,
Sara Russell

Thanks to our fellow rescuer in SLC Dixie for the generous $40 donation to Brookside Animal Hospital for Laddie's operation!!

"We have been thinking about it and I had thought that the sooner we let him go the better, But you are right, finding the perfect home brings so much more contentment in knowing that we are doing the right thing.  Here is some more info on Laddie.

We have had him since August 2000. We adopted him from Rock Springs WY Humane Society.  When we got him he had been owner turned in, but we soon noticed that he had been abused.  We have given him a stable and loving home.  Laddie loves my 16 year old daughter.  When she comes home no one else matters.  He is really attached to her and she to him.  She wants him to find a really good home.  He is very jumpy and you can tell that he has had a rough time. I think that he is very adjusted now but still jumpy.  Fly swatters, brooms, loud sounds, arguing, ect., send him under the bed.  If any one hugs or plays with the girls he starts barking in their defense. He is not mean or defensive with little children, you can just tell that he doesn’t like them, or doesn’t trust them.  He is tolerable though.  The only concerning thing is that he never got to like our oldest son.  He tends to be loud and obnoxious most of the time, but loves big dogs.  Laddie dislikes him a lot!!!  He has gone after him barking but never attacking or biting.  He is wonderful with everyone else, especially strangers, If he gets attention he will be their friend for life.  He just wants to be petted and loved.  We have really loved him, but are seeing that he is getting worse with is paw.  He won’t walk around the block.  Half way there we is limping so bad that he sits down and refuses to go any farther. We end up carrying him home.  In the mornings he hobbles around for awhile before he will start using his paw.  There are many other time during the day that he pampers it and walks with a limp most of the time.

Thanks for working with us.  He is so loveable and really helped Niccole through a rough time in her life, She is seeing that he is hurting and wants him to be taken care of.  We just cannot afford the medical bills that we are afraid are coming with him.  We love him and this hurts, that’s why we are trying to find someone who can take care of him. Denise loved visiting all the doggie walking places in San Francisco.  What a dog town!!

Jesse was thrilled at how Happy accepted Laddie into his home.

They enjoyed their chew treats on the bed.

And they both love their mommy.

Handsome the kitty loved Laddie right away and wanted to play with his tail.

Laddie has found the perfect home and goes into meet the Ortho Specialist this week.

How are you doing?  did you find a home for your two new ones?
just thought you'd enjoy a Laddie update.  He's been a very busy boy!  i got him a velvet coat (tan) like Happy's purple one..and they really were quite something at the Bark & WHine Ball!
they seemed to have to represent all Poms...cause they were the only ones there....there was dancing...and a buffet table with doggie treats....
When you entered there was a red carpet...it was quite something. They were both...and all the dogs quite well-behaved and just too cute.   Laddie only peed once.
I"ll e you some pics when i get them (if they turnout)

we have had several pee-free days!!  yeah...

and the weather has been really beautiful...don't hate us...in the 70's !  so we were outside on the go all weekend.

i may hear ;more this week on the Pet Food Express job.  I took LAddie on one of the interviews...he was a big hit!

much love to you and your family,
jesse & the boys
